Overview
Choices affect pricing by determining which itinerary items are included in the total.
Each option within a choice can have its own pricing. When a client selects an option, the prices of the items in that option are included in the trip total.
How pricing works
Pricing in choices is based on the items inside each option.
- Each item can have its own price
- The total price depends on the selected option
- Only the selected option contributes to the final total
If an option contains multiple items (for example a hotel and a transfer), their prices are combined.
Enabling pricing for choices
Each item has a checkbox that controls whether its price is included in the total.
- Enabled → the item’s price is included in the total
- Disabled → the item’s price is shown, but not included in totals or invoices
For choices, pricing should typically be enabled.
This allows the system to:
- Calculate totals correctly
- Switch between option prices in the booking flow
Important note
If pricing is disabled for items inside a choice:
- The prices may still be visible
- But they will not be included in the total
- The final price shown to the client may be incomplete
This can lead to confusion in the booking flow and invoice.
What clients see
In the client portal:
- The selected option determines which items are shown
- The prices of those items are displayed
- The total updates based on the selected option
In the price summary:
- Prices are grouped depending on the selected mode, e.g by category (accommodation, transportation)
- The total reflects the selected option and any included items
Tip
Ensure that pricing is enabled for all items that should be included in the total, especially when using choices, so the final price accurately reflects the selected option.
